Production & Overdubs

At Prism Horse Studio, we help artists, bands, producers, and engineers take songs from early ideas to finished recordings. That can mean pre-production, a better vocal take, another guitar part, or reworking the whole production.

Travis Kennedy and Tim Palmer bring decades of combined production and recording experience to the studio. Both stay active with their own projects and bring that experience to a collaborative process built around your music.

The right space for each stage

Not every part of a record needs to happen in the same room. We have relationships with recording studios across Austin and can help coordinate tracking at a facility that fits your music, team, and budget—especially when you need a large live room or more isolation.

Then bring the project to Prism Horse for focused overdubs and production: vocals, guitars, keyboards, additional instrumentation, creative layering, and sound design. You get the space of a larger facility when you need it, with the flexibility and personal attention of our South Austin studio.

Plenty of ways to find your sound

Our collection of guitars, amps, synths, keyboards, pedals, and virtual instruments gives us plenty to work with—from a simple guitar texture to layered orchestration or something less expected.

We combine Pro Tools with analog gear and modern digital processing. Our extensive reamping setup also lets us run recorded performances through different amps, effects, and signal paths without having to replay the part.
